"Recordings of an Immigrant" One Night Only Event
This Saturday, September 21st, we will be celebrating the completion of the artwork for Vincent Goudreau's "Recordings of an Immigrant", a book based on the journey of Juan Aquino from his native Guatemala to the United States. Goudreau, through Aquino's voice, tells a story of poverty, violence, corruption, and survival that reads more like an ancient epic of morality than a modern day story of immigration. It is a contemporary narrative, amidst the racial tension of the US immigration overhaul, that confronts taboo issues and explores, in the abstract, how we as people judge one another.

The artwork on display was printed by our own Tania Arens, alongside Goudreau, at Paia Print Lab.
