"Work(Ing) Studio" by Paul Mullowney
We are honored and excited to welcome master printmaker and Maui resident Paul Mullowney as Paia Tattoo Parlor's first artist in residence. From July 24th through August 21st Mullowney's private art studio will be relocated to the gallery at Paia Tattoo Parlor as a kind of living installation/performance piece and social experiment in which he will be working on new projects involving woodcut printing, photography, and other media. Working tables, portable walls, print drying boards, computer, art, books, fridge, desk, and all the ephemera associated with the working studio will be moved to the tattoo shop in a recreation of Mullowney's 10x15 upcountry studio. As part of this exhibit we are encouraging the public to come and see how an artist lives and works in his studio.
